Digital Desk: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the highest taxpayer among celebrities for the fiscal year 2023-24, according to Fortune India's latest 'The Star Cast' list. Khan topped the list with a remarkable advance tax payment of Rs 92 crore, showcasing his substantial contribution to the country's revenue.

Tamil cinema's 'Thalapathy' Vijay secured the second spot with an impressive advance tax payment of Rs 80 crore. This achievement places Vijay ahead of other prominent figures in the industry, including Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Khan, who came in third, paid Rs 75 crore, while Bachchan, a Bollywood icon, paid Rs 71 crore, securing the fourth position.

In the realm of cricket, former captain Virat Kohli stood out as the highest taxpayer among cricketers, with an advance tax payment of Rs 66 crore. This significant contribution highlights Kohli’s stature and impact in the sport.

The Fortune India list also includes several other notable celebrities from the film and entertainment industry. Ajay Devgn contributed Rs 42 crore, followed by Ranbir Kapoor with Rs 36 crore and Hrithik Roshan with Rs 28 crore. Celebrities like Kapil Sharma, Kareena Kapoor, and Shahid Kapoor also made substantial tax payments, contributing Rs 26 crore, Rs 20 crore, and Rs 14 crore, respectively.

From the cricketing world, M.S. Dhoni paid Rs 38 crore, while legendary players Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly contributed Rs 28 crore and Rs 23 crore. Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant also made noteworthy payments of Rs 13 crore and Rs 10 crore, respectively.
