An air raid siren will sound at 6:30 PM on 7th May
Digital Desk: The Meghalaya government has scheduled the statewide practice for air raid precautionary procedures will be conducted on Wednesday, 7th May , 2025 at 4:00 PM. This exercise operates under a national initiative that both evaluates emergency preparedness and teaches people about air raid protection standards.
At exactly 6:30 PM the air raid siren will activate to launch the drill that has been scheduled for later that day. Standard precautionary measures need to be followed during a scheduled seven-minute power outage that will be part of the simulation.
Authorities have urged everyone to stay composed and give full cooperation to the exercise. The drill has been scheduled due to rising national security threats to monitor how communities would operate during aerial situations.
The activity functions exclusively as a preventive program under the leadership of the Ministry of Home Affairs to boost disaster preparedness in all states and union territories.
