Digital Desk: On 8th January 2025, Bishal Choudhury the proprietor from Adventure Carz filed an FIR at the police station , concerning the stolen Scorpio S9 vehicle that carried AS-01-EU-5131 as its registration number. Debojit Borah son of Danda Borah had rented the Scorpio S9 vehicle AS-01-EU-5131 from 3 No. Fallangari, Golaghat for a wedding trip to Jorhat and Dibrugarh. The GPS system of the vehicle was disconnected on 7th January, 2025 which indicated Debojit Borah stole the vehicle.
A case was filed at Paltanbazar Police Station, Case No. 09/25 under sections 305(b)/318(4) BNS with investigation responsibility given to SI (P) Sunil Katuwal.
During the ongoing investigation Sivasagar police arrested veteran thieves Debojit Borah and Bikash Das who resided in Golaghat. More disclosures from the investigation resulted in arrest of Kamlakanta Das from Golaghat and Sajadur Rahman from Sivasagar getting arrested.
Through Rahman's decisive information the department located the stolen vehicle in Ruksin Arunachal Pradesh that had passed to a civilian through a second-hand car dealer. The registration number of the vehicle had been tampered with, but the engine and chassis numbers remained intact, confirming the vehicle’s identity. The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
