Digital Desk : Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty starrer Border 2 has officially begun filming. The sequel of Border will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. The Anurag Singh directorial is set to hit the theaters on January 23, 2026.
Earlier this year, Sunny Deol confirmed his return to the iconic role he portrayed in the original. Varun and Diljit announced their casting for the film in August and September respectively.
Taking to X, T-Series announced, "The cameras are rolling for border 2! With Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty leading the charge, this Anurag Singh directorial, powered by cinematic legends Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta promises action, drama, and patriotism like never before."
Ahan Shetty in a heartfelf note said, "Border is more than a film--it's a legacy, an emotion, and a dream come true."
Border 2 seems to be based on the 1999 Kargil war. In 1999, Pakistani troops infiltrated across the Line of Control(LoC) and occupied Indian territory in the Kargil district.
The original film helmed by JP Dutta, was a landmark in Indian cinema, depicting 1971 India-Pakistan war. Fans are eagerly waiting for the film's sequel.
