We are not criminals; we are educators who shape human resources.

Digital Desk: The Association of Deprived Teachers and Employees of Provincialized Educational Institutions in Assam staged a huge protest demanding the regularization of their jobs at Dispur Last Gate. They accused the government of going back on their promises and failing to act for several years.

The protesters intensified their agitation march toward Janata Bhawan. But they were heavily barricaded and  it them stopped from proceeding.

Frustrated, the teachers stated, “We are not criminals; we are educators who shape human resources. Look at our condition in Assam today.” They further accused police brutality stating, “The police attacked us brutally, and we are deeply hurt."

Many teachers were detained at Dispur Last Gate and were taken  to the designated protest site in Chachal Field. Congress leader Mira Barthakur also joined in solidarity with the agitating teachers.
