The raid highlights continued efforts to crack down on illegal betting networks operating in the region.

Digital Desk: Based on input, a raid was conducted at the Birubari market, police arrested a known veteran person involved in betting activities. The individual has been identified as Irfan Baig (32 years),  the son of Arman Baig , residing at House No. 21, Birubari Bazar, near Ranghar Goli under Paltanbazar Police Station, Kamrup (M).

 During the operation, several illegal  items were found on his person. The confiscated objects during the raid consisted of five suspected mobile phones dedicated to betting on Teer numbers. The investigator confiscated five small diaries that displayed Teer numbers as well as corresponding bets. Around  ₹27,000 cash recovered during the raid was connected directly to Teer number betting activities.

The authorities continue their crackdown on illegal betting operations throughout the region to ensure public order and combat unlawful activities in the region. Further investigation into the network is currently underway.
