The King arrived in a royal helicopter at the Jogighopa facility on April 19 at around 9 am. He was received and warmly welcomed by Assam Public Health and Engineering Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah.

Digital Desk: Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck visited India's first International Multimodal Logistics Park, currently under construction as part of the Bharatmala Project in Jogighopa of Assam's Bongaigaon district on Saturday.

The King arrived in a royal helicopter at the Jogighopa facility on April 19 at around 9 am. He was received and warmly welcomed by Assam Public Health and Engineering Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah.

Massive security cover had been put in place ahead of the arrival of the Bhutanese King. Bhutanese security personnel were also deployed during the visit.

Taking to X, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed the King and added that the Jogighopa MMLP will be a game-changer for the larger Indo-Bhutan region and ensure seamless trade and logistic movement.

This visit marks the boost of bilateral ties between two neighbouring countries India and Bhutan. King Wangchuck's visit will focus on the areas including trade, connectivity, and regional development.

In a post on X, Minister Baruah said that he welcomed King Wangchuck as per the directives of Assam CM Sarma.
