Digital Desk: Today, in Digboi following a shocking murder that has sparked widespread public outrage.A boy, identified as Akash Tiwari was allegedly killed in a gruesome manner, with the accused repeatedly ramming a truck into him in what witnesses described as a “cinematic” style attack.
After the body was brought from Tinsukia following a post-mortem examination, angry locals staged protests by blocking a national highway, demanding justice for the victim.
Protesters also gheraoed the residence of the accused, identified as Akash Singh, located along the highway, further intensifying the unrest.
In a major escalation, an enraged mob set a passenger auto-rickshaw and a red Maruti Swift car on fire during the protest.
Police forces have been deployed in the area and are making efforts to bring the situation under control.
