Digital Desk: In this area of northern Kerala, the 70-year-old father who had come to reside with his daughter met a horrible end on Saturday when he was crushed to death by a stray wild elephant.

The other day, Rajappan, a resident of nearby Tamil Nadu, came to visit his daughter, who lives in Attappady.

The old man was sleeping in a small shed in front of the house bordering the woodland when the tragedy occurred.

"We speculate that he may have heeded the call of nature. He was assaulted and killed by the elephant, which had wandered from the adjacent forest,"  according to a police official.

After being taken to the government hospital in the vicinity, the injured guy was pronounced dead by the medical staff.

According to the police, the region where the wild elephant threat was typically observed.
