The Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati has issued a yellow alert in various districts of Assam...


Digital Desk: In accordance with the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rain will continue downpour in Assam from 30 August to September 2.


The Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati has issued a yellow signal for the next four days in several portions of Assam, noting, "Light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms with lightning in isolated areas."


Here are the following districts that have received a yellow warning on the specified dates-


August 30: Tinsukia, Charaideo, Jorhat, Golaghat, East Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi


August 31: East Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao


September 1: East Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Cachar


September 2: Dima Hasao, Cachar, Karimganj


Meanwhile, more than five rivers in Assam were flowing above danger levels in the last few days, as fresh spells of heavy rain lashed numerous portions of the state and the northeast. 


According to an official bulletin issued on August 28, one person was also murdered as a result of flooding in the last 24 hours.
