Digital Desk: Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi Deputy Manish Sisodia has been arrested by another central agency just one day before his bail hearing in the Delhi liquor policy case in a Central Bureau of Investigation court.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister after interrogating him for two days about alleged money laundering while framing the new liquor policy, which was scrapped after Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to look into it.
The ED arrest complicates things for Sisodia, who has been seeking bail from the CBI court. The ED will present him in court tomorrow, the same day his bail hearing is likely to come up.
Sisodia is being kept in Delhi's Tihar jail under judicial custody after the CBI's custody ended, following his arrest on February 26.
Arvind Kejriwal's reaction to Manish Sisodia's arrest
Reacting to Manish Sisodia's arrest by the ED, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted in hindi, "Manish was first arrested by the CBI. CBI did not find any evidence, and no money was found in the raid. There is a bail hearing tomorrow. Manish would have been released tomorrow. So today ED arrested him. They have only one aim - to keep Manish inside at all costs. By creating new fake cases every day. The public is watching. public will answer."
