As per the Ministry data released today, the overall number of active Covid-19 cases in India has increased to 11,191 (0.03 percent).
Digital Desk: India has registered 949 new cases of the novel coronavirus and six deaths from the infection in the last 24 hours.
According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Friday (April 15), the country experienced 810 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to around 98.76 percent and total recoveries to 4,25,07,038.
As per the Ministry data released today, the overall number of active Covid-19 cases in India has increased to 11,191 (0.03 percent).
Meanwhile, the country's total death toll today stands at 5,21,743. The first death from the Covid outbreak was recorded in India in March 2020. On April 15, the daily positive rate was 0.26 percent.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 83,11,77,370 samples had been tested for Covid-19 upto April 13. On Wednesday, 3,67,213 of these samples were examined.
Meanwhile, 325 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the national capital on Thursday, repeating a trend that began on Wednesday, when the city had 118 percent more cases than the preceding two days. In the last 24 hours, Delhi has seen 224 recoveries and zero deaths.
Even while doctors on Tuesday claimed it was "not a panic situation" because the number of daily cases remained modest, the Covid positive rate in the national capital surged from 0.5 percent to 2.39 percent in a week but warned against letting their guard down.
According to the health authorities, the daily spike of 325 cases on Thursday significantly increased from the 137 cases registered on Monday. Notably, on Tuesday, the department did not release a bulletin.
