Digital Desk: The ban on parties at properties listed on Airbnb as short-term rentals will now remain in effect forever.

The San Francisco corporation claims that reports of parties at listed residences have decreased by 44% from a year earlier, indicating that the prohibition has been successful.

According to Airbnb, around 6,600 visitors were banned from the site last year for similar infractions.

After a tragic shooting at a party in a California home in 2019, Airbnb started to crack down on parties. The firm at the time forbade posting social media advertisements for parties at Airbnb locations.

As people transferred gatherings from bars and clubs to rental houses, Airbnb reported that the number of parties at its sites increased throughout the pandemic. Consequently, a brief restriction was imposed in 2020.

Airbnb said it will remove the 16-person maximum at rented properties while making the ban permanent. Before COVID-19 vaccinations were available, it was claimed that health concerns led to the cap.
