Guwahati: The Assam Book Fair to begin from Wednesday, i.e. December 29, here at the Assam Engineering Institute playground in Chandmari.  

This year amid the spike in covid cases in the country, the Assam Publication Board has decided to combine the ‘Guwahati Book Fair’ and the ‘Northeast Book Fair’ into one named ‘Assam Grontho Mela.’

The 12 days long ‘Assam Grontho Mela’ will be inaugurated by Education Minister Ranoj Pegu tomorrow at 3 pm.

According to the board, over 300 books will be available at the book fair this year. Moreover, the book fair will have around 150 bookstalls. The book fair will be open from 11 am to 8 pm and the entry of children will be free of cost.
