Chasing a record target, the West Indies could only manage 305 for 6 in 50 overs...


Digital Desk: India defeated West Indies by three runs in the first One-Day International (ODI) to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.


India scored a whopping 308 for 7 after being asked to bat, with skipper Shikhar Dhawan leading the way with a 99-ball 97. Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer each contributed 64 and 54 respectively. 


Chasing a record target, the West Indies could only manage 305 for 6 in 50 overs.


Kyle Mayers led the way for the home side with 75, while Shamarh Brooks and Brandon King contributed 46 and 54, respectively.


Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Yuzvendra Chahal each took two wickets for India.
