Around 575 kg of cannabis were recovered from a smuggled Bolero pick-up truck...

Digital Desk: On Tuesday night, officials apprehended one guy and seized a large stash of cannabis worth around Rs 3 crores at Bhalukpong, near the state borders of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

According to police, 575 kg of cannabis was recovered from a Bolero pick-up truck that was smuggling the drug.

According to information collected, the cannabis smuggling endeavour was foiled by Chariduar Police in Assam's Balipara Tehsil in the Sonitpur district during an anti-narcotics operation based on particular tips. 

During the raid, police officers discovered 18 smuggled cannabis sacks. In addition, one person was seized in connection with the investigation.

However, authorities believed that the total cannabis seizure was worth Rs 2.7 crores on international narcotics markets. A case has been filed, and an additional investigation into the incident has been carried on.
