Digital Desk: Over 380 cases of Japanese Encephalitis have been reported in Assam since July 2022, claiming the lives of 82.

The reports of National Health Mission Assam claimed that a total of 386 JE cases have been registered since the month of July in the state.

Assam also reported one death and one new case on August 24. Goalpara reported one death while Kamrup reported the latest JE case.

It may be mentioned that Japanese encephalitis (JE) is a brain infection and it is caused by the JE virus, which is spread to people by mosquitoes.
