In response to his remarks, animal rights activists harshly criticized the MLA's plan, calling it inhumane and outrageous.
Earlier, Jharkhand BJP MLA Biranchi Narayan made a similar comment in response to the stay dogs issue.
"If the government cannot find a solution to the problem, call the people of Nagaland and the problem will go away," Narayan said.
Animal rights activists immediately condemned the statement and started demanding that the MLA be prosecuted.
