Digital Desk: Four country-made bombs exploded at a BJP rally in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, injuring at least two party members on Sunday. The injured have been taken to a hospital, and the situation in the area is back to normal.

According to reports, a number of BJP supporters demonstrated in Cooch Behar's Sitalkuchi, calling for the arrest of TMC officials who had lately been the targets of raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Two saffron party workers were hurt when several country-made bombs detonated during the protest. They were taken to a local hospital right away, and security personnel on hand for the event quickly got things under control.

"We conducted a big protest march in Sitalkuchi area, Cooch Behar, during which TMC workers started pelting stones and afterwards hurled bombs, as a consequence of which 2 BJP party workers got hurt," said BJP district president Sukumar Roy after the event.

TMC MP Shantanu Sen responded to the accusations by claiming that the BJP was fabricating the attendance at its protest demonstration in order to maintain its public image.

He added that the TMC doesn't have to assault the BJP rally because they are a self-destructive party. "We don't instigate, they do," he said.
