Pakistani actress Resham's attempt at "charity" spiraled into severe
trolling, causing the actor to apologize for her actions in a video of her
feeding aquatic animals in which she can be seen dumping plastic into the
    water.

In an effort to feed fish,
Resham posted a video of herself throwing meat and bread into a river. However,
she quickly received harsh criticism once it was discovered that she had also
been throwing plastic wrappers into the river.

    Resham can be seen getting
out of her car and standing on a bridge in the video. She begins by cracking
open a meat package and tossing pieces of it into the water. In addition, she
opens two loaves of bread and dumps them into the river. The actor can be seen
tossing the plastic packing that the food items were packaged in into the river
    in both cases.

    People in the Pakistani
film industry and even users of social media criticized the actress for
"polluting" and "contaminating" waterways for her personal
PR stunt in response to the now-viral footage.

    "Distributing aid on
camera to victims of devastating floods caused by massive climate change
tragedy right after discarding food and plastic shopping bags/trays into a
river (also on camera)," tweeted singer Meesha Shafi.

    The outrage compelled
the performer to release an Instagram video in which she apologized, calling
the episode "one of the biggest blunders of my career" and vowing
never to make a similar error again.

    According to media
accounts, the actor stated that the incident was inadvertent and that she was
frequently "absentminded" as a result of her two Covid infections.
She continued by saying that she had been dealing with mental health concerns
and had recently lost her only sibling.
