AAP MLA displays 'bribed' cash in Delhi assembly, alleges hospital staff tried to bribe him
The AAP MLA accused the Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini of corruption in the employment of nursing staff. Contractors allegedly attempted to bribe him.

Digital Desk: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Rithala in Delhi Mohinder Goyal showed wads of currency notes in Delhi Assembly on Wednesday alleging corruption at a city government hospital.

The AAP MLA accused the Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini of corruption in the employment of nursing staff. Contractors allegedly attempted to bribe him.

"The money I displayed was offered to me as a bribe. Rs 3 lakh was handed as token money. I've been bringing up the corruption issue since January 5. I lodged a complaint with DCP, CS, and LG. They (contractors) attempted to reach an agreement with me. Despite DCP concerns, no action was taken against it "Goyal stated.

"I am hopeful that the Delhi Assembly would take action on my complaint," he added.

Goyal said there was a danger to his life from "powerful" persons seeking to quiet him after he complained about irregularities in the hiring of temporary employees at the Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini.

"I require protection. My life is in jeopardy, "Rithala MLA informed the House.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel called the situation serious and referred it to the House's petition committee.
