2 IRBn jawans apprehended on charges of drug peddling in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: Acting on credible inputs from an insider, the Police arrested 2 IRBn jawans along with a civilian of being involved in a drug peddling case in Arunachal Pradesh. About 67.23 grams of Heroin was also recovered from their possession.

The jawans belonged to the 5th Battalion of the IRBn and were stationed at Phasighat in Arunachal Pradesh. “Initially, they were counselled by CO (Commanding Officer) 5th IRBn and other officers to go for rehabilitation recently when eight other 5th IRBn persoonnel were sent to Margherita, Assam. But that didn’t work out,” the statement further added.

A departmental inquiry has been initiated against the two accused jawans.
