    Daughter of Afghanistan envoy to Pakistan Kidnapped & Tortured in Islamabad

    Islamabad: The Daughter of Afghanistan’s envoy to Pakistan Najibullah Alikhil was kidnapped and tortured by unknown assailants in the Pakistani capital Islamabad before she was released, the Afghan foreign ministry said.





    As per the report, the 27-year-old Silsila Alikhil went missing at around 2.30 pm (local time) near Rana Market in Islamabad.  





    The Afghan Foreign Ministry in a statement said, “Explicitly called on the Pakistani government to take immediate action to identify and punish the perpetrators of this crime and ensure the full security and immunity of Afghan diplomats and their families in accordance with international conventions."





    Expressing deep regret over the incident the Afghan Foreign ministry tagged it as a heinous act, said now we are concerned over the safety and security of diplomats, their families and staff members of the Afghan political and consular missions in Pakistan.





    Currently, Alikhali is under treatment at a hospital in Islamabad. According to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Science in Islamabad, she has swelling in various parts of the body.





    Pakistan foreign ministry stated that it has increased the security of Afghan officials and their families.





    Moreover, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to arrest the culprits involved in the incident within 48 hours.





    Earlier, such type incidents of harassing the diplomats and their family members of different countries have been reported in Islamabad. The Indian diplomats have also faced innumerable harassment in Islamabad.
