NIA raids 23 places in Andhra, Telangana: PFI members quizzed for 'terrorist training'
While NIA searches were taking place in Nandyal and Kurnool, several residents demonstrated against the arrival of officials and chanted for them to leave.

Digital Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials on Sunday conducted several raids in various districts in Andhra Pradesh. PFI members have been detained and are being questioned about inciting violence and engaging in unlawful activity.

A man was issued a summons to appear at the NIA headquarters in Hyderabad on Monday after officials conducted a raid on a home in the Telangana province's Nizamabad area.

In the districts of Nizamabad, Kurnool, Guntur, and Nellore, up to 23 NIA teams conducted simultaneous searches.

Sources claim that the operations are connected to knowledge about nearby terrorist activities.

During these searches, authorities have already detained PFI district convener Shadullah, as well as members Mohammad Imran and Mohammad Abdul Mobin, for questioning. They are being interrogated for encouraging violent behaviour and engaging in unlawful training under the pretense of teaching karate.

While NIA searches were taking place in Nandyal and Kurnool, several residents demonstrated against the arrival of officials and chanted for them to leave.

    RAID IN NIZAMABAD

In the Nizamabad district of Telangana, searches are also in progress. Shahid Chousih's home has been searched by NIA agents, who also confiscated his passport and bank passbooks.
Additionally, he received a summons to appear at the Hyderabad NIA headquarters on Monday.

"They seized two phones, a passport, and passbooks from a bank and examined the transactions before asking me if I had anything to say. I replied that I was the owner of a service centre. Just that, not another. They handed me a notice and asked me to appear at the NIA office in Hyderabad."

    RAID IN NELLORE

In the Khaja Nagar neighbourhood of Buchireddypalem town in the Nellore district, the NIA has been searching since the break of day. Authorities are looking through the home of Ilyaz, who has been missing for the past three months.

He allegedly has terrorism links and a tiffin shop in Khaja Nagar. Iyaz's family members are currently being questioned by officials.
