    Gauhati High Court grants interim bail to Victor Das
    The Gauhati HC granted Victor Das interim bail following his statement over spreading false rumours about the selection to the Grade III and IV posts in the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination.

    Digital Desk: Victor Das, who was detained for allegedly spreading untrue rumors about the selection to the Grade III and IV posts of the Direct Recruitment examination held throughout Assam on August 21 and 28, was granted temporary release by the Gauhati High Court on Friday.

    An enormous lobby is vying for a backdoor appointment, according to Guwahati-based coach Victor Das, who alleged in a tweet that "people are seeking money from 3 lakhs to 8 lakhs depending on the role."

    Victor, tagging the state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Special DGP GP Singh overwrote, "Respected Sir, a huge lobby is running for the backdoor appointment of the recently held ADRE exams where people are demanding money from 3 lakhs to 8 lakhs depending on the post, also a few ex-MLA is involved. Please help."

    However, authorities claimed that after questioning Das, Das was unable to produce any pertinent evidence to support the claims he had made on social media.

    According to DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta, Victor Das was unable to offer reliable information on the subject and had erroneously interpreted the circumstances.

    "Victor could not provide us with any hard evidence about the issue at hand. 

    He had misconstrued the entire incident, he hastily told reporters.

    Additionally, the police searched Victor Das' home in Dadara Village, Hajo in the Kamrup district, and took his laptop.
