Big names skipped as India name Test, ODI squads for West Indies tour
The ODI team also includes several of the regulars, with Gaikwad being included in the white ball setup. Sanju Samsom has also been recalled, with KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant out due to injuries.

    Digital Desk:
    India
has announced their squads for the two-match Test series and three-match
One-Day International series against the West Indies in July and August.

    The Test series will
serve as the launch pad for both India and the West Indies' World Test
Championship squads for 2023-25. The One-Day International series will also be
important for India as they ramp up their preparations for the Cricket World
    Cup later this year.

    Following the
disappointment of losing the World Test Championship final to Australia at the
Oval, India has made some significant decisions by bringing in some new faces
for the Test setup. Uncapped hitters Yashaswi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have
been chosen in place of veteran batter Cheteshwar Pujara.

Jaiswal and Gaikwad both had successful IPL seasons, opening the
batting for the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, respectively. Pacers
Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini join the squad, but Mohammed Shami and Umesh
Yadav are absent. Ajinkya Rahane has been selected vice-captain of the side,
with Rohit Sharma remaining skipper. Jasprit Bumrah is still out as he recovers
    from a back ailment.

The ODI team also includes several of the regulars, with Gaikwad
being included in the white ball setup. Sanju Samsom has also been recalled,
with KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant out due to injuries.

Mukesh Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat, and Mohammed Siraj are all
included in the limited-overs squad, as are Mukesh Kumar and Mohammed Siraj.
Umran Malik rounds out the pace bowling lineup. Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep
Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel have all been named to India's One-Day
    International squad.

The ODI team will be led by Rohit Sharma, with Hardik Pandya
    as his deputy.

The Test series will kick off on July 12 in Dominica and
conclude on July 24 in Trinidad. The three-match series will follow suit,
taking place from July 27 to August 1.

    The Indian
team has yet to be named for the T20I series.
