'It's everything....': Virat Kohli's 1st interview after 2023 World Cup final loss surfaces
Virat Kohli stressed the value of Test cricket in his career and the great joy it provides in an interview with Star Sports.

Digital Desk: India is getting ready for a two-match Test series against South Africa, which will start on Boxing Day at SuperSport Park in Centurion. The goal of Rohit Sharma's leadership is to rewrite this historical record for the best Test squad in the world, even if they have never won a Test series in South Africa.

Cricket fans have been waiting eagerly for Virat Kohli to play again after he was rested for a month following India's November 19 World Cup loss to Australia. A closely contested series resulted from Kohli's absence during India's most recent tour to South Africa. India won the first Test but eventually lost the series 1-2, mostly because Kohli missed the second Test due to a back illness. Under Rohit Sharma's leadership, both Kohli and Team India are keen to make history by winning the Test series, even though the painful memories of the World Cup final are still raw in their minds.

Virat Kohli stressed the value of Test cricket in his career and the great joy it provides in an interview with Star Sports.

"In my view, test cricket is the foundation of the game. It's history. That's cultural. It's inherited. It's everything. To come out on the other side at the end of four days, five days or whatever the test goes on, it's a different feeling from anything else that you experience. The most memorable moment for me personally and as a team is definitely when I finish a long innings for my team and help them win a Test match," according to Kohli.

"You might say that I am a traditionalist, so for me, playing in the whites and in Test cricket is everything. That’s what I have grown up on. And I am truly grateful that I was able to fulfill my dream of playing Test cricket by being able to play more than 100 Tests for my nation," Virat Kohli said in conclusion.

Due to a family emergency, Virat Kohli had to go back home to Mumbai just four days prior to India's crucial Test series against South Africa. It is expected that he will make a return to South Africa before the start of the first Test match between India and South Africa.
