Ravi Shastri: 'Mera coaching ka hisaab khatham ho gaya' says Shastri denying the position of coach

The former India all-rounder left his post as coach following the team's early exit from the T20 World Cup the previous year.

Digital Desk: Former India coach Ravi Shastri stated that his coaching career was ended and that he would now watch and enjoy the game from the stands.

Shastri oversaw a spectacular period in Indian cricket, transforming the group into a championship contender and a fearsome force in Test matches.

During the former all-term rounder's as coach, India won series all over the world, including back-to-back Test series victory in Australia. The squad also advanced to the inaugural Test Championship final.

Following India's early elimination from the T20 World Cup last year, the former all-rounder resigned as coach.

Shastri was asked if he would like to work as a coach for one of the league's clubs. Shastri is now the Legends League Cricket commissioner.

The former India coach quickly rejected the notion, declaring that his coaching career was over. He went on to explain that he had a good time coaching the Indian squad for seven years.

Shastri went on to clarify that he will be working at the grassroots level of the game and providing guidance in that area. Furthermore, the former Indian coach claimed that he will be watching the game from the sidelines.

"Mera coaching ka hisaab khatham ho gaya," says the coach (My time with coaching has come to an end). Mein kar liya saal jitna karna tha (For seven years, I have done enough).

If I undertake any coaching, it will be at the grassroots level, which I have a company that does. That is something I will do. Otherwise, my coaching career has come to an end. Now I'll watch the game from afar and enjoy it," Shastri remarked.
