Digital Desk: On the night of Bohag Bihu, i.e,15th April , a series of theft incidents was reported in Guwahati, raising fresh concerns over security in the city. In a single night, three commercial establishments in the Borbari area were targeted by unidentified thieves.
The affected establishments include UA Wine Shop, a bamboo and cane products store, and a business named Brahmaputra Agency. According to reports, the accused broke open the tin roof of the UA Wine Shop to gain entry and subsequently gained access to all three establishments.
The thieves allegedly decamped with cash, mobile phones, and other valuables from the shops. The entire incident has been captured on CCTV cameras installed at the premises.
Owners of the affected businesses have informed Dispur Police, who have since reached the spot and initiated an investigation. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Notably, a similar theft had taken place at the same wine shop around a month ago, and several other commercial establishments in the area have reportedly been targeted multiple times in the past, raising serious concerns among local business owners.
