Digital Desk: Ten out of 12 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Members of Parliament (MPs) who secured victories in the assembly polls across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh resigned from their Lok Sabha seats on Wednesday.

The delegation, spearheaded by BJP chief JP Nadda, presented their resignations to the Speaker, marking a strategic step following their state victories. Key figures like Narendra Tomar, Prahlad Patel, Riti Pathak, Rakesh Singh, and Uday Pratap Singh from Madhya Pradesh, along with MPs from Rajasthan—Rajyavardhan Rathore, Kirodi Lal Meena, Diya Kumari—and Arun Sao and Gomti Sai from Chhattisgarh, were among those who submitted their resignations.

Prahlad Patel, who clinched victory in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections from the Narsingpur constituency, stated, “After meeting BJP president JP Nadda, I have resigned as Lok Sabha MP. Soon, I will also resign from the Cabinet.”

While Baba Balaknath and Renuka Singh are yet to tender their resignations, the BJP’s significant win in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh dealt a blow to the Congress, resulting in the resignation of chief ministers in these states.

In a contrasting outcome, the Congress emerged victorious in Telangana, toppling K Chandrashekar Rao’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), leading to the resignation of the state's chief minister.

These assembly elections were widely considered a prelude to the forthcoming Lok Sabha poll in the coming year, amplifying the stakes and strategic moves within the Indian political arena.
