Digital Desk: Tensions have escalated in Majuli following the mysterious death of a 25-year-old woman, Aparajita Hazarika, amid allegations of foul play.
Her family has accused her husband of murder, leading to a police investigation.
Originally from Lakhimpur, Aparajita had been married to Nitul Nagariya of Majuli for ten years and was the mother of a young child.
According to reports, she was admitted to the Garhmur Sri Sri Pitambar Dev Goswami District Hospital late at night, citing gastric issues, but passed away shortly after.
While the husband informed her family that she had consumed poison, her relatives have raised concerns over conflicting statements.
They suspect that the death was a premeditated murder carried out by her husband with the assistance of a friend from Titabor.
Following a case filed at the Garhmur Police Station, Police have detained Nitul Nagariya and his associate Ratna Gogoi.
Ratna Gogoi had reportedly been staying at the couple's residence for three days prior to the incident.
The body is currently at the district hospital awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police officials stated that the exact cause of death will be confirmed once the medical report is released.
