After nearly five months, the 200-mark for daily infections was broken on July 6 when 210 cases were found, with a positive rate of 10.14 percent.

Digital Desk: According to a health alert, Assam saw the largest daily increase in COVID-19 cases in almost five months as 273 more persons tested positive in the past day.

After a few days, the northeastern state also noted a new coronavirus-related fatality.

The number of cases in the state has increased to 7,25,950 as a result of a COVID-19 case surge that began in mid-June following a four-month lull.

After nearly five months, the 200-mark for daily infections was broken on July 6 when 210 cases were found, with a positive rate of 10.14 percent.

On Friday, the state had recorded 196 new cases, with a positive rate of up to 11.15 percent.

With a positivity rate of 10.38 percent, the cases on the previous day were found in 2,631 of the analysed samples.

With 100 new cases, the Kamrup Metropolitan district, which mostly includes Guwahati city, recorded the largest number of recent illnesses.

According to the bulletin, Darrang recorded 17 instances, Dibrugarh 24 cases, and Kamrup (Rural) 46.

With the addition of the lone victim from the Kamrup Metropolitan district, there have now been 6,640 fatalities. Since 2020, 1,347 additional patients have passed away for unrelated causes.

In the past 24 hours, 90 patients were successfully treated for the infection, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 7,16,823 and the discharge rate to 98.74%.

There are now 1,138 active cases in the state, up from 956 the day before.

2,84,03,126 samples in total have been examined for infection thus far.

Up to this point, 4.67 crore doses of the COVID-19 vaccination have been given throughout the state. 2.45 billion first doses, 2.14 billion second doses, and 7.45 lakh preventive doses are included, it continued.
