Digital Desk: A migraine attack can be extremely painful, and individuals who frequently get them may find life to be challenging. Migraine is characterised by a severe headache that throbs and causes nausea and vomiting as side effects. Aura or visual abnormalities can also occur soon before or during a migraine attack. It typically affects one side of the face, and speaking may be difficult or cause tingling in the hands and legs.

Depending on the person, a migraine attack might last anywhere from four hours and a few days. Certain meals and medications may help with symptoms. There are several Ayurvedic treatments for pain alleviation that can be tried at home. In addition to balancing doshas and reducing migraine symptoms, soaked raisins, cardamom tea, and cow ghee are all effective migraine treatments.

In a recent Instagram post, ayurveda specialist Dr. Dixa Bhavsar discussed three items that can be found in most kitchens that can help with migraine symptoms.

1.    Soaked Raisins

You can start your day with a cup of herbal tea and then eat 10 to 15 raisins that have been soaked overnight. The migraine headache will be greatly reduced by this. When ingested regularly for 12 weeks, it reduces the body's overall excess pitta along with irritated Vata and soothes all migraine symptoms such acidity, nausea, irritability, one-sided headache, intolerance to heat, etc.

 

2. Cumin-Cardamom Tea

This can be consumed an hour after lunch or dinner or whenever migraine symptoms are noticeable. Making it is pretty simple. Take half a glass of water, add 1 cardamom and 1 tsp of cumin seeds (jeera), and bring to a boil for 3 minutes. Strain, then drink this delightful tea to relieve migraines.

The best effects of this are on motion sickness and stress. can be consumed before night or whenever the symptoms are severe.

 

3. Cow Ghee

Cow ghee is the best remedy for balancing excessive pitta in the body and psyche.

There are numerous applications for ghee:

1. During meals, such as while eating roti, rice, or vegetables sautéed in ghee

2. Can be consumed with milk before bed.

3. Nasya (instilling 2 drops in nostrils)

4. When using medications - Brahmi, Shankhpushpi, Yastimadhu, and other migraine-relieving herbs can be taken with ghee.

One might use these natural migraine remedies in instead of popping drugs to alleviate migraine symptoms.
