A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Nagaon in Assam earlier on Sunday. It happened at a depth of 10 kilometres at 4:18 in the afternoon. 

Digital Desk: The National Center for Seismology reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 occurred on Monday at around 4:15 am 70 kilometres northwest of Yuksom, Sikkim. This is the second earthquake of this size to be felt in Assam in more than 24 hours.

The NCS posted a tweet with the following details: "Earthquake of Magnitude:4.3, Occurred on 13-02-2023, 04:15:04 IST, Lat: 27.81 & Long: 87.71, Depth: 10 Km, Location: 70 km NW of Yuksom, Sikkim, India."


A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Nagaon in Assam earlier on Sunday. It happened at a depth of 10 kilometres at 4:18 in the afternoon. According to the reports, earthquakes were also felt in several areas of Bangladesh, India, and Bhutan.

National Center for Seismology (NCS) said in a tweet, "Earthquake of Magnitude:4.0, Occurred on February 12, 2023, 16:18:17 IST, Lat: 26.10 & Long: 92.72, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Nagaon, Assam, India." 

Both earthquakes occurred within 48 hours after a 3.8 magnitude quake that was felt in Gujarat's Surat area. The epicentre of the earthquakes, which were recorded at 12:52 in the morning, was around 27 kilometres west southwest of Surat, according to the Institute of Seismological Research (ISR).
