Bystanders rushed her to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital


Digital Desk: Today, a middle aged woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident on B. Baruah Road near B. Borooah College in Guwahati


The victim, identified as Sita Devi, a resident of Lal Mati area near Ulubari Kabristan, was reportedly struck by an unidentified three-wheeler auto-rickshaw at around 6:30 PM while attempting to cross the road. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision, leaving her critically injured.


Bystanders rushed her to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for urgent medical treatment. However, she later succumbed to her injuries.


Personnel from Paltan Bazar Traffic Police reached the spot and have launched an investigation. Officials stated that CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the vehicle and the driver involved.


A traffic official said that further action will be taken once more details are established.
