Digital Desk: Six alleged Rohingyas were apprehended in the Matinagar area of the Sepahijala district's Kamalasagar Assembly ahead of the Tripura election.

Six Rohingya youngsters have been sleeping in an abandoned house of Moti Mia in the Matinagar region for nearly a week, according to sources.

However, the house's owner, Moti Mia, has been absent for some days. When the locals became aware of the situation, they encircled the house and notified the Border Security Force and Tripura Police.

They were arrested and transported to the Amtali Police Station for further questioning.

During interrogation, the inmates claimed that they were originally from Hyderabad and used to work there.

They afterward travelled to Tripura with the assistance of a broker to travel to Bangladesh. Due to rigorous security, the broker who brought them there was unable to cross the international border.
