Digital Desk: At least six tourists were killed and 11 others injured after a massive avalanche hit Sikkim’s Nathula border area on Tuesday, officials said. In the 14th mile of the Jawaharlal Nehru route that connects Gangtok and Nathula, an avalanche occurred.

The Sikkim Police are conducting a rescue operation. 22 travellers have been saved so far. As the snow on the route was cleared, 80 vehicles and 350 stranded visitors were also found and saved. More details are awaited.
