Asha Parekh received the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, while Suriya and Ajay Devgn were named Best Actors.
Digital Desk: President Droupadi Murmu gave the 68th National Film Awards on Friday evening, September 30, in Delhi. The 52nd Dada Saheb Phalke Award was given to veteran actress Asha Parekh.
Best Actor awards went to Ajay Devgn, Suriya, and Aparna Balamurali. Tanhaji and Soorarai Pottru were named Best Feature Film winners. The National Film Awards were announced this year in July 2022. The 2020 Academy Awards recognised the best in cinema.
The following are the highlights of the 68th National Awards:
1. Asha Parekh greeted the jury and expressed gratitude for receiving the 52nd Dada Saheb Phalke award so close to her 80th birthday. She will be 80 years old on October 2, 2022.
2. Asha Parekh received a standing ovation from the crowd when she received the 52nd Dada Saheb Phalke Award. Since 1952, the 79-year-old actress has been involved in the show business.
3. Suriya and his wife Jyothika were in Delhi to accept the National award. For his portrayal in Soorarai Pottru, he received the Best Actor award.
4. At the 68th National Honors, Ajay Devgn earned two awards. He won the Best Actor award, as well as an award as the producer of Tanhaji, which was named Best Feature Film (Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment).
5. Veteran singer Nanjiyamma was named Best Female Playback Singer for her work on AK Ayyappanum Koshiyum (Malayalam). As she took the stage to accept the trophy, the audience gave her a standing ovation.

6. Manoj Muntashir, lyricist, poet, and screenwriter, earned the National award for Best Lyrics for his song in Saina.
7. At the 68th National Awards, Varun Buddhadev, the lead actor in Toolsidas Junior, received a special mention from the jury.
