Digital Desk: Heavy overnight rainfall has swamped several parts of Shillong- the capital of Meghalaya.

 Several nearby areas of Shillong in Meghalaya are also staggered under floodwaters followed by heavy rains since Thursday morning.

 The worst affected areas are Polo, Smit, Ranikor and Nongstoin.

Floods have also been reported in Mawryngkneng, Nongkrem and Nohron areas in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. Several villages near Shillong city in the East and West Khasi Hills districts of Meghalaya have also been affected by the floods.

 Floods in several parts of Shillong have disrupted people's normal lives.
