Famous Assamese actor Kishor Das passed away on Saturday in Chennai after a prolonged battle with cancer.


Digital Desk: The Assam Film Society held a memorial service for actor Kishor Das, who passed away yesterday, on Sunday at Jyoti Chitrabon in Guwahati.

Actors and actresses from the film community were present to show their respect.


Along with several senior and junior fraternity members, notable actors Ravi Sarma, Shyamontika Sharma, and Pabitra Margherita attended the ceremony.


At Jyoti Chitrabon, actor Ravi Sharma planted a tree in honour of Kishor Das.


It should be noted that Kishor Das had been receiving treatment in Guwahati for a while before moving to Chennai in March of last year for more advanced treatment.


He reportedly also had COVID-19, which brought about complications.


Das has appeared in more than 300 music videos, with "Turut Turut" becoming Assam's most popular video by a wide margin.


In addition to appearing in numerous short films, he was well-known for his roles in TV series like "Bidhata and Bandhun."


Additionally, he received the Asianet Icon Award's "Most Popular Actor 2020–2021" and the "Candid Young Achievement Award" in 2019.
