On September 30, the students' union will hold sizable protests against the NHPC.

Digital Desk: All Assam Students' Union (AASU) has decided to renew agitations against the construction of the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower hydroelectric project by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) at Gerukamukh in Lakhimpur district along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.

After the executive meeting on Wednesday, AASU Chief Adviser Samujjal Bhattacharya made this announcement.

On September 30, the students' union will hold sizable protests against the NHPC.

There will also be demonstrations in Gerukamukh.

Samujjal Bhattacharya stated in a statement following the meeting, "The NHPC authorities built the dam without paying any attention to the expert committee's report. We demand that the dam's construction stop as soon as possible.
