Mumbai: Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in the Paper Papers leak case. The agency has asked the actress to be present at the office today to record her statements with regard to the case.

However, latest reports suggest that Bachchan has sought another date for questioning.

As per ANI, the ED has registered a money-laundering case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 20023, (PMLA) in the matter.

The Panama Paper Leak case is the 11.5 million leaked encrypted confidential documents that were published in April 2016. The leak exposed financial details of over 214,488 offshore entities.

Few of the documents even date back to the 1970s,that were leaked by Panamanian offshore law firm and corporate service provider Mossac Fonseca.

Among those names leaked in dozens of documents containing personal financial information, were current or former world leaders, public officials, politicians, celebrities and corporate people.
