The party warned that such threats endanger communal harmony and the safety of the Muslim community...

Digital Desk: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) submitted a memorandum to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday, requesting enhanced security for Muslims in the state.

This plea follows the party's earlier memorandum to Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, which raised concerns about threats issued against Muslims in Upper Assam.

The AIUDF highlighted that unknown organizations and fundamentalist groups have demanded that Muslims leave the region or face severe consequences.

The party warned that such threats endanger communal harmony and the safety of the Muslim community. The AIUDF's latest appeal underscores the urgency of protecting minority communities and addressing escalating tensions in the state.

In the memorandum to Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, the AIUDF stated, "It has come to our notice that some unknown organizations and fundamentalist groups have publicly issued threats against a section of the Muslim community demanding that they should leave upper Assam immediately or face dire consequences". Such statements are not only alarming but also create a serious threat to communal harmony and safety of the community in the region, it said."
