Digital Desk: President of Raijor Dal Akhil Gogoi has launched a vicious attack on Director General of Police GP Singh, charging him with threatening oppositional voices in Assam and engaging in political games.

Gogoi addressed Singh's recent social media statements in a statement sent to the media, casting doubt on the DGP's interpretation of his words. Gogoi explained that his remarks were aimed at the hierarchical power structure in democratic movements rather than, as was previously believed, Singh's late father. He asserted the right to protest guaranteed by the constitution and criticized Singh for his purported attempts to quell opposition.

Gogoi emphasized the sacrifices made during the anti-CAA movement, citing the pain suffered by their families and the deaths of Assamese youth. Comparing Singh's activities to those of a "mafia gang leader," he accused Singh of abusing his power and claimed that the Assam Police, under Singh's direction, had turned into instruments of political oppression.

The president of Raijor Dal reiterated his opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and vowed to fight for their rights in spite of threats. He portrayed Singh's disagreement as ideological rather than personal and demanded that the DGP issue a public apology for any wrongdoing.
