Digital Desk: Akshay Kumar is all set to go on a tour to North America with other celebrities like Disha Patani, Mouni Roy, Nora Fatehi. The actor recently posted a promotional video in which he is shown walking over the map of India.

The actor uploaded the now-controversial video on his social media handles on Sunday. However, Akshay's post did not go down well with Netizens, who promptly termed it as disrespectful to the India map.

Disha Patani, Mouni Roy, Nora Fatehi, and Sonam Bajwa also feature in the video. Fortunately for them, they were not walking on the India map, so they escaped Akshay's fate.

The video was made to promote the North America Tour of the stars in March this year. Sharing the video, Akshay tweeted, "The entertainers are all set to bring 100 percent shuddh desi entertainment to North America. Fasten your seat belts, we're coming in March!"

Netizens were quick to comment on the video, slamming the actor for walking over India's map. Some questioned Akshay's loyalty by citing his Canadian citizenship.

"What a shameful and arrogant person... walking on India's map..."  one user wrote. "Seriously. Who came up with this idea to walk on a map ? No matter how much people want to distance themselves from these issues, you movie folks keep doing these blatant mistakes,s which is responsible for the ire you guys are receiving," wrote another user. While another user wrote, "What do you want to achieve by doing this? Respect India."

The actor stated earlier that he has decided to give up his Canadian citizenship and apply for an Indian passport.

Akshay Kumar will next be seen in 'Selfiee,' which also stars Emraan Hashmi, Nushrat Bharuccha, and Diana Penty. 'Selfiee,' directed by Raj Mehta, will hit theatres on February 24.
