Guwahati: Keeping in view of the spiraling covid cases in the state of Assam, the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Kamrup Metro have decided to close all educational institutions, only if 1000 covid cases are detected on a particular day. Until then the schools, colleges and tuition centres will remain open.

The order will remain in effect until May 4.

Assam reported 1931 covid cases on Thursday with 10 deaths. A total of 398 persons were discharged after recovering from covid-19. Kamrup (M) topped with highest number of covid cases after reporting 680 persons as covid positive.
