Rupinder Singh Sodhi, the MD of AMUL, India's largest food products company, is leading and developing the cooperative sector within the Indian dairy industry.

Digital Desk: The managing director of India's largest dairy cooperative, GCMMF, R S Sodhi, who merchandises its goods under the Amul brand, was hospitalized on Wednesday night after suffering minor injuries in a car accident close to Gujarat's Anand town, according to the police.

As per the police statement, around nine o'clock in the evening, the car he was riding in hit a divider on the Anand-Bakrol road and stalled, said Deputy Superintendent of Police B D Jadeja. "The car's driver lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason," which resulted in the collision. Locals immediately transported the driver and Sodhi to a nearby hospital. Due to their minor injuries, "both are not in danger," he added.

With its headquarters in Anand Town, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF) produces and sells its goods under the Amul brand. Since 2010, Sodhi has been the organization's MD.
