Following orders from the National Commission for Women (NCW), the CID initiated an investigation into charges made by former Assam Pradesh Youth Congress president Dr. Angkita Dutta against Indian Youth Congress president Srinivas BV. The CID started a probe into the issue and will take the necessary steps.

Meanwhile, the CID has warned Srinivas BV that if he fails to arrive on time, the CID will opt for legal action.

In a notice dated April 23, Moitrayee Deka, additional deputy commissioner of police (East Guwahati), urged Srinivas B V be present for questioning on May 2 (Tuesday) at 11:00 a.m.

The notice further instructed the Youth Congress national president not to commit any more offenses and not to tamper with the evidence in the case in the future.

The notification further directed him not to make any threat, inducement, or promise to anyone who is familiar with the facts of the case.

According to the notice, he must appear in court whenever necessary, join and cooperate in the investigation of the matter, disclose all facts accurately, and produce all relevant documents.

Furthermore, the notification stated that he will be required to cooperate fully and will not allow the disposal of any material relevant to the case's trial.

"Failure to attend/comply with the terms of this notice can render you liable for arrest under section 41A (3) and (4) of CrPC," the notice read.
