Srinivas B. V. was notified by letter dated 23 April and instructed to attend for questioning on 2 May (Tuesday) at 11:00 am by Moitrayee Deka, assistant deputy commissioner of police (East Guwahati).

Digital Desk: In connection with the Angkita Dutta harassment case, the Karnataka Session Court on Friday rejected Srinivas Bhadravathi Venkata's request for bail.

In connection with the case, Srinivas had applied for bail; however, the court denied his request after hearing from Makhan Phukan, the special public prosecutor.

To present the government's position, Phukan had been sent to Karnataka.

Srinivas BV petitioned the Karnataka court to overturn an FIR that Angkita Dutta had filed against him, accusing him of disturbing her modesty and harassing her. The Gauhati High Court had rejected his request for any temporary relief, thus he had to do so.

On April 23, Dispur Police Station in Guwahati issued a summons to Srinivas Bhadravathi Venkata, the national president of the Indian Youth Congress, to appear for questioning about a harassment complaint provided by Angkita Dutta, the former president of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress, at the police station.

Srinivas B. V. was notified by letter dated 23 April and instructed to attend for questioning on 2 May (Tuesday) at 11:00 am by Moitrayee Deka, assistant deputy commissioner of police (East Guwahati).

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, responded to the accusations made by Indian National Congress MLA Randeep Surjewala by posting a copy of the notice on Twitter and asserting that it was unjust to hold him responsible for the absence of a safe workplace for female employees inside the Congress party.
