Digital Desk: Anna Hazare, the former mentor of Arvind Kejriwal, made a significant statement as he exercised his voting rights in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. He criticised his former protege for allegedly engaging in corruption, a vice they had collectively fought against in the past.
He also said, "Elect clean candidates. Choose politicians with clean images and not those being chased by the Enforcement Directorate."

He stressed the importance of selecting clean and untainted leaders, cautioning against supporting individuals under scrutiny by agencies like the Enforcement Directorate.
Hazare's remarks took a direct aim at Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, whom he accused of involvement in a liquor scam case. Hazare's stance against Kejriwal's alleged corruption was unequivocal, asserting that individuals tainted by such scandals should not be entrusted with public office.
Previously, Anna Hazare expressed disappointment that his former colleague Arvind Kejriwal, who had worked with him against alcohol, is now making liquor policies as Delhi Chief Minister. Hazare said he had written to Kejriwal twice, advising him against the new liquor policy, but Kejriwal did not listen.
Hazare blamed Kejriwal's "own deeds" for his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the excise policy case. He said if Kejriwal had not brought the liquor policy, he would not have been arrested.
"I am very upset that Arvind Kejriwal, who used to work with me, raise his voice against liquor, is now making liquor policies. His arrest is because of his own deeds," Hazare said. He felt Kejriwal made the policy to "earn more money."
Hazare said the law and government will now decide what is proper, and he won't give Kejriwal any more advice. He stated that despite his letters, Kejriwal did not change his stance and finally got arrested due to his own actions.
